Where did my motivation go?
Once upon a time there was a very loving pair of couple, the girl was a small time waitress and the guy a policeman. Life was poor but full of happiness for them, well not everything went smoothly for them as the girl’s family feel that the guy was too poor to give her a good life. Finally with lots of true love and hot tears they got married and in the year 1985 3rd of May the girl give birth to a healthy looking baby boy. The baby boy was the proud product of their true love and their love story. As the both of them are poor and have to work 24/7 to make ends meet therefor they have to part with their baby boy, letting the girl’s mother to take care of their love. The girl’s mother was from Indonesia so the baby boy stayed in Indonesia for 6 years.
Our hero grew up in an environment where he hardly see any kids from his age, people around him are all adults, people like his grandmother’s sister’s family, his uncle and his grandmother’s worker. Everyone around him treated him like their own, giving him everything he wants as he was very adorable and very street wise for his age. He was very strong, very independent, smart, speak fluent Malay and hardly fall sick. He learn to cycle in just 5 mins and by six years old he had already learn how to drive a pick up truck.
6 years passed in a blink of an eye and its time for our hero to return to Singapore for his education. In primary school he could play almost all kinds of sports and boy he really could play. Although he was fat but he could run really fast and he was well like by his peers. He treasure all his friends as he didn’t have friends in the first 6 years of his life, slowly he became the leader of the group. His primary six life was the most unforgettable time in his primary school life, it was the first time he came into contact with his ultimate love-Basketball. He join the school’s basketball team 2 months before the basketball competition and was selected as part of the 12 man squads. The competition was a nightmare for him, the school lost every single match and our hero was laugh at by everyone watching as he fail to score a single goal during his fifteen attempts in a match.
Most people would have given up playing due to such humiliation but well our hero are not some normal human being, not only he didn’t give up he spent 14 hours a day training hard on his own for 1 whole month. Till now 21 years later he is still benefiting from that 1 month he trained 21 years ago. Now he is among the best, playing with such confidence and passion. Without his desire and motivation to train hard he wouldn’t be who he is now.
Seven years later its time for him to serve the army, the moment he steps into Pulau Tekong he whisper silently to himself that 3 months later he will leave this training ground being the best soldier there. He was extremely motivated to be the best and he work as hard as he can during the three months. True to his words, he left 3 months later being nothing but the best.
4 years later he is sitting in front of his laptop asking himself where did his motivation gone. This was the third day he had not leave his house or should I say leave his room.
Rotten and degrading.
